About Peter Killcommons
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Medweb, Dr. Peter Killcommons manages the operations of his company’s numerous divisions in medical imaging and philanthropy. Under Dr. Peter Killcommons' leadership, Medweb advanced to become a leader in Web-enabled, secure teleradiology, telemedicine, and RIS/PACS (radiology information systems/picture archiving and communication systems) solutions. Often used in military environments, Medweb products are noted for their reliability, stability, security, speed, and customizability.
For nearly two decades, Dr. Peter Killcommons has overseen the company’s developments and philanthropic programs. A physician and graduate of the New York Medical College, Dr. Peter Killcommons utilized a grant from Pacific Bell to establish an online network of hospitals in 1994. In doing so, Dr. Peter Killcommons set up a system of communication to improve collaboration between medical professionals. For his efforts, he gained recognition in the business section of the San Francisco Chronicle.
In addition to developments in PACS solutions and military applications, Dr. Peter Killcommons strives to apply the technology to humanitarian efforts abroad. Dr. Peter Killcommons applies Medweb work to projects in the developing world and has contributed to the installation and distribution of telemedicine platforms (Tele-Clinics) in Malaysia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the remote island of Tristan da Cunha.
Dr. Peter Killcommons spoke at the 4th Intensive Balkan Telemedicine and e-Health Seminar, in Podgorica, Montenegro in November 2010. He addressed attendees on ways to bring medical care to rural villages via Internet telemedicine technologies. Among the attendees were Montenegro’s Deputy Minister of Health, Nebojša Todorović, as well as representatives from Kosovo, Macedonia, and Albania.
Dr. Peter Killcommons, a physician for more than 25 years, oversees the development of Medweb platforms that facilitate the electronic distribution, storage, and communication of medical data obtained from a variety of devices.
